👁️🗨️SPOTLIGHT
Deepak Chopra creates an AI version of himself to give you longevity recommendations
The renowned guru of alternative medicine is using AI to share his wisdom and promote longevity for billions of people.
If you could ask the (arguably) most influential figure in health and spirituality about living a better and longer life, what would you say?
Well now’s your chance.
Deepak Chopra, a renowned leader in alternative medicine and spirituality, recently launched an AI digital twin called DigitalDeepak.ai, according to an article in Fortune.
The AI twin–which he calls a spiritual guide–uses machine learning to give personalized recommendations to promote longevity and health span.
All recommendations will only stem from teachings that can be found in his huge body of work.
“I’m most excited about the possibility of reaching a critical mass,” Chopra tells Fortune.
Big picture: Digital twins are becoming common in wellness. These tools offer lifestyle recommendations, but down the line they could become diagnostic.

The best workout is not the hardest
You should be practicing “easy effort” zone 2 training for this reason.
Zone 2 (Z2) cardio training is an easy effort type of cardio that can improve longevity, according to Men’s Health.
What is it? The goal of Z2 cardio is to maintain a heart rate between 60% to 70% of your maximum heart rate, according to Mayo Clinic.
In other words, staying at light-to-moderate intensity for the entire workout, Mayo writes.
Why is it important? Zone 2 cardio training can build mitochondria, says sports scientist Kenneth Jay, PhD, in Men’s Health.
Mitochondria generate energy that drives all of our muscle contractions. Dysfunction is linked with cancer, diabetes, obesity, and more.
How do you know if you are in Z2? There’s complex math and devices that can tell you, but so can the simple “talk test.”
The “talk test”
Imagine you are having a telephone conversation while working out.
Can you easily hold the conversation? In Z2, you can hold a conversation without feeling totally out of breath.
Can the other person tell you are working out while talking? In Z2, you should experience slightly labored breathing, indicating to the other person that you are doing more than just sitting down.

Eye on a better future
Two years after a serious work-related accident, 46-year-old Aaron James became the first person to ever receive a whole-eye transplant, according to research just published by NYU Langone Health.
The operation was a success—the eye is the same size, and it has normal pressure and blood flow.
James still cannot see out of it, but the team believes he will one day.
"I’ve been given the gift of a second chance, and I don’t take a single moment for granted,” James says in an interview.
